Real Estate

Real estate plays a critical role today’s economy, as clearly evidenced by the negative impact of subprime lending in the real estate market on financial institutions in 2008 and 2009. There are many different paths to choose in real estate: Appraisers analyze research to determine the value of a property. Banks and mortgage lenders evaluate a client's credit and risk profile to make investment decisions. Agents and brokers mediate the transaction between parties. 

A CE real estate intern could work with a residential or commercial brokerage firm, work with appraisers to determine an appropriate listing price, or assist on property tours, inspections or negotiations.

Past CE Real Estate Interns have:

  • Shadowed a real estate broker on commercial real estate negotiations
  • Learned how to evaluate a client’s creditworthiness by conducting a financial analysis risk assessment
  • Exposure to direct trading and investing while evaluating the real estate market at hand
